Re: create aaf from single OP1a mxf file
Hey there!
yeah i spent some time with it but didnt yet get out what i want to do next.
Basically it is kind of strange for me that we have 2 Source Packages (and only one materialpackage) in your aaf and one of them says the duration of all tracks is 4320000. This number does not make any sense, not when dividing by 25, nor by 48000 or any other calculation that comes to my mind. From experience there should be only one source package as we only link a single source file here.
In the other source package, all tracks durations are 125, so same that i did set in the last aaf.
Honestly, i don't think that the "track name", which you find to be "Mob" influences at all.
Need to spend more time with this...

Hi emcodem, thanks for your time, in the same folder you can find another aaf example file, called "P0878935Cut.aaf",I hope this can help you, here below the source linked file spec:

OK cool, so 4320000, the number is the same in both files. I guess it refers to the maximum supported duration or such.
Anyway, the files that pyaaf2 creates and your samples are very different, it would be good to have some indication where to turn screws.
Let's go back one step and elaborate on this:

besides the filename being mob (which i believe don't influence but we can change that too), does this mean that it basically worked but it played only a single audio frame instead of 125?ring4life70 wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:40 pm with this new AAF, the file name in the bin is alway mob, but now in the file is present the first audio frame,
OK, so you say avid crashed but you dont think it's related to the aaf from pyaaf2. So whats the problem with pyaaf2 file now? (in detail i am asking about TEST AAF_length125.aaf only - it links to rdd9.mxf on the share.ring4life70 wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:40 pm the problem now is that If I move the mxf file from the Desktop to the UME folder, and try to relink the mxf using the aaf file, Avid crash, I don't think this is a problem related to your aaf, because I have the same issue if I try to link the mxf file using my old original aaf ( the first uploaded on your folder).

Hi encodem
the crash problem is solved, it was my mistake, sorry, TEST AAF_length125.aaf is linked to TEST AAF.mxf on the share, and not to rdd9.mxf, the file name in the bin is always "mob", media duration is 5.00 sec. video is ok and is present for the overall duration of the media, but as you can see in the screenshot, only the first frame contain audio signal, in the remain 4.24 sec the audio is mute.
i hope this can help you
thanks

Ok great! thanks for confirming. I had the feeling that it was exactly like that but its good to have it confirmed.
I should be able to create a new aaf test tomorrow for you

Re: create aaf from single OP1a mxf file
Ok, please try out retry.mxf on the share.
Also, if you can, please send me one aaf with duration 5seconds and 1 frame exactly

Re: create aaf from single OP1a mxf file
hi emcodem, and thanks again, same result the aaf file is regularly linked to retry.mxf but the name in the bin is always Mob and only the first audio frame is played, another thing, if I copy the mxf file in the UME\1 folder, and then import the aaf in the bin, avid crash, but if I import first the aaf in the bin and then copy the mxf in the UME\1 folder, I don't have any kind of crash.
so I have uploaded another aaf and mxf ( called P0878935_Cut.01,Interleaved mix.mxf and P0878935_Cut.01,Interleaved mix.aaf ) with duration 5seconds and 1 frame exactly
thanks
