Hi guys

Do you know is there is a way to remux Sony XAVC MXF files to op-atom avid compliant file with ffmpeg ?
If yes do you plan to implement it in the XAVC node like DNx or Xdcam node (Avid structure) ?

Thank you :)

The XAVC Node is going through some renovation, so we might as well think about this.
About my experiments, when I was muxing with FFMpeg it wasn't writing the profile correctly so that when I was opening it with mediainfo it wasn't reporting it as it should, but I guess AVID should recognise it anyway as it just doesn't care. I have to talk to GrandMaster Steinar about this but I don't see why we shouldn't enable it. After all, we're already muxing with FFMpeg and it's almost sure that it's gonna be AVID compatible, so... I'll ask him and come back to you. :)

Ok, thank you for your help :)
I will have a look with FFMPEG. We use a lot of SONY camera here and it would be very useful and much faster to ingest directly with FFAstrans.

Hi guys

let me forward some news. I have tested with ffmpeg and I didn't found any simple working code.
But the good news is that It works with BMX as simple way as with XDCam or Dnx
For the moment, I have only tested with SONY XAVC-I (MXF) and no pb to play it in AVID
Of course it doesn't work with XAVC-S files from a SONY A7S for example as It is a MP4 container.

Hello dear Ghtais,
Ok good to know. It is really kind from you to share your experience with us. Honestly, I'm very busy at the moment and I can't try all that I would like.
Anyway, thanks again and I hope to see you soon.
;)
