Basic Usage of FFAStrans

What am I doing wrong... I was looking for an encoder software that is more flexible than Adobe Media Encoder and I thought maybe FFASTrans could work for me.
To begin with, I wanted to set up a watch folder to convert large MTS-files to smaller MP4, but I seem to fail on the first step. Whichever process I add, I get no options but "Submit files to". Am I missing something?
I have a Windows 7-64 system running.
Is there a basic manual for FFAStrans or could someone help me out? Would be very grateful :-) Thank you

Hi AlexBerlin and thank you for trying out FFAStrans :-)

It seems to me you're skipping the step where you actually configure the processor nodes...? You do this by left-clicking in the name of the node you've added. Have you tried this? When you have done this, connect the nodes you want and save (Ctrl+S). Now start your workflow from the left "Workflows" window.

I'm sorry, but there are no really GOOD user manuals for FFAStrans other than the one you get through F1 and the question mark button on most popup windows. I hate writing manuals....:-(

Hi Steipal,
thank you so much for your incredibly quick response.
Clicking on the name of the node - so easy and yet so far away :-)

OK, now I have set up a few workflows, with a watch folder, decoder, with or without a few filters, x264 encoder, output folder, all nodes connected, workflow saved and enabled, clicked on start, put a video file in the watch folder, and what happens then, seems to be a bit erratic.

A few times, mp4 files were rendered, some of them even playable, others made my vlc player crash or played only audio in QT or WMP.
But mostly, nothing happens.
Or, the process starts but won't reach the encoder node.

Is there anything I missed?

Reliability is always top priority and so I would like take a look at your workflows and see if there is anything irregular. Can you please export and send them to post@ffastrans.com?

Do you get any error messages in the status monitor?
