How to use bundled AviSynth for opening AVS?

Post by kibi »

I have installed additional standalone AviSynth to use it with AvsPmod. I have set up the workflow to process AVS files as input files. Both AviSynth instances use additional plugins. And it's a little bit harmful to support both of them.

The first question - which AviSynth, standalone or bundled is using while opening incoming AVS scripts in Input Monitor?
It seemed that it's external, as it works without certain plugins in FFASTrans "Processors\AVS_plugins" directory. Is it possible to use bundled AviSynth to process incoming AVS and avoid standalone installation?

And the second question - is it possible to use bundled AviSynth in other software, for example AvsPmod?

The bundeled one is only used by the bundeled ffmpeg. I'm not 100% sure what version ffmpeg will load if you have installed the standalone version. But if you want to use avs-scripts in other programs then you MUST install the standalone unless your other programs support dynamic loading of the avisynth.dll file. Either way, as long as you use absolute paths when loading plugins in your scripts, they should work fine no matter where you use them.
