New install

Hi,
I just installed FFAStrans on a newly installed windows 10 pro machine.
I can create workflows, but I cannot manage them to execute/run. I also imported a workflow from a prior working configuration (different pc) and that one does not work either. Also when submitting a file to a processor nothing happens. I enabled local processing.
Did I perhaps mis something when installing FFAStrans. I just downloaded and ran the program.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Greetings,
David

What post did you follow ?
I installed FFASTRANS on 2 pc's but I can't get files transcoding.
"local processing" has been enabled.
When I export the work flow and give it to someone else using FFASTRANS then at their pc it works.
So it must be something in my setup, but what ?

Hello Eric,
Are you on windows 10?If yes, I think it's because the processes of FFASTrans are stopped by windows firewall.

FFAStrans is not stopped by the firewall unless you're doing FTP and other operations that demand open ports. BUT, Windows Defender might be your problem and you may need to exclude the FFAStrans processes from your AV.

And always remember to right click and save the workflow or nothing works. I spend several days before i found that obvious but weird problem.

Hi Eva,
This is the post. Windows Firewall/Defender prevented me installing some FFAStrans files. I believe it was the processors.exe file in the processors folder that was missing. After excluding this file in windows defender, everything just worked fine.

Here is the correct link to the topic about how windows defender detects it as a virus and you need to add it to exceptions
