Silent tracks in Channel Mapper

Hi !

I wonder if there would be a way to specify in the Channel Mapper node that some tracks are silent.
If not, it would be useful for some of the broadcasters I'm sending file for to have tracks with silence when 5.1 mix is unavailable.

Thank you again for your great tool.

Hi philthewiz,
i did not 100% understand what you are after.
You can create silent audios in the output by just specifying e.g. a non existing channel number from the input. E.g. the maximum number of channels of your input files is 16, so you specify number 17 in order to create silence on the mapped output channel.

It's exactly what I needed. Thank you very much for the suggestion.
I've put the following channel mapping from a 4 channel file to make a 8 channel file with 4 silenced tracks :

1:1 (Left Total)
2:2 (Right Total)
3:11 (Silence)
4:12 (Silence)
5:13 (Silence)
6:14 (Silence)
7:3 (Left DV)
8:4 (Right DV)

I have multiple possibilities in my workflow. 2,4,8 or 10 channels.

Depending on the broadcast facility, I need to layout my audio differently based on a master file that has always the same audio track order.

Sometimes, we don't have a full 10 channels layout (5.1+LtRt+DV).

Thank you again.
