exe_manager detected as virus by Mcafee

hello,
I installed ffastrans on win2008 R2 64 bits with mcafee enterprise version 8.8
mcafee detect a virus named Artemis!2D2E9409C680 in exe_manager and delete this file.

Corrupted installer on the site or just a issue with mcafee ?

I would not hesitate to blame mcaffe on this one. It's a known issue. I really don't belive the package is infected.

Hi,

since our last update of McAfee (last Sunday) we have the same problem.
We also use McAfee Enterprise 8.8.
I've contacted McAfee-Support and sent them the file for analyzing purposes.
Our IT-Department is using Sophos and their virus-scanner can't find anything.

I got response from McAfee-Support.
They have confirmed that the application is ok.
No issue.
It was tested with the newest DAT (security update).

@Laurent.madjarian: they told us to install a newer DAT (at least 8360) and test it.

Great, although i "knew" the files are ok it's nice to have it confirmed by McAfee. But I assure you, the problem will return at some point

Yeah, sadly I see it the same way. For me it was important to get as fast as possible an extra-DAT which surpress a "detection".

I excluded ffastrans process from mcafee in Epolicy orchestrator rules.

Short info: after last mcafee-update defrunner.exe and exe_manager_exe were detected as malware again.
I've contacted mcafee again.
They analyzed them again.
Again it was confirmed that these files are clean.
They put both files on their whitelist so no false detection should occur.

The latest programm-version of "Avira Antivir" also blocks some executables on Win10. Deinstalled that antivir-"Service" and putted back the exes from quarantine. everything is fine again.
