There may already be a way to do this but I can't see how to implement it at the moment.
I have 3 x low powered HP elitedesks for copying media from external drives to a server & 1 x Dell 7910 for 'number crunching' and I've set up a shared workflow which is working great but I'd like to be able to set off jobs & monitor progress from all 3 of the low powered stations and let the Dell do all of the processing. I guess that if I could set the max active jobs to 0 then it'd automatically push all of the processing to the dell?
Cheers,
Ali
Shared Workflow - Maximum active jobs 0 option
Re: Shared Workflow - Maximum active jobs 0 option
Update - I've just closed FFAStrans on the 3 ingest stations & ran the monitor from the shared storage and for all intents it appears to do what I need it to (monitor the progress).
Re: Shared Workflow - Maximum active jobs 0 option
Having a maximum jobs 0 option would simply stop the computer from doing anything at all. Now, that might not be such a bad idea if you would just use it as a workflow manager. But that option is covered in the next release and it's also not your issue. Anyway, I'm glad you sorted it out
