I've taken a quick look at the website and I am excited to say the least. I work at a rather large media organization and I'd like to use something like this instead of Elemental, Rhozet, etc. as FFMPEG offers better encoding options and better support for many of the formats we need. I also really like that there is encoding node support with this software and it seemsfairly user-friend (based on the pics). This came up on a Google search today and looks amazing!
FFAStrans could be just what we need. However, since it isn't open source or commercial I can't just install binaries on our network without having the security guys come after me with pitchforks. Recently I have presented the solution based on FFASTrans to my colleagues and the only opened question was the licensing. We should somehow take into account the risk of the software becoming abandoned. There are several options how to handle it, depending on licensing. Commercial licensing is one of possible ways, while the source code is closed.
We think that FFASTrans is great tool ! but yet we decide to not go ahead with it, because we're concern on it's sustainability.
