More help with XML's.

Post by rdubo »

Hello guys.

I hope everybody's ok. That's 4 a start. Well, what i really want to accomplish now it's a lil bit unusual and maybe some of you have the same questions as i do so, I definitely want to share this one with you too. Is there a way for the app to take an XML template and populate variables with some new information to create a brand new xml related to a processed file ?. I think we have some chances with the text generator, but IDK how to declare the variables in order to obtain the final XML.

I think Media Info can bring some of the data but also it will be needed to include information about the content (A resume, number of chapter, cast, director, year of production, etc).

The workflow:

MXF OP1A enters with an additional plain text -> the media file is converted into a new TS file -> the plain text is taken by the app in order to extract some words from it -> media info analyze the converted media file -> the app merges the info retrived from the text and media info and creates a new xml file from template.

What do you think ? it can be possible ?.

I really want to know what's yr opinion and yr experience with XML handling.

Big hugs.

rdubo.

Hi rdubo,

What does the text file that comes with the mxf look like? If you could share with us an example of that and an example of the XML-template it's easier to help you design the workflow. Also do you know how to create and populate user variables in FFAStrans?
