Problem with X264 encoder-too many frame

Post by momocampo »

Hello,

Well, I find a little problem with h264 encoder. I tried to encode a 90' XDCAM film with 1h 30min 38sec and 01 frame.
The result in mov or mp4 is 1h 30 min 38 sec and 14 frames.
My original file has a TC which begin at 09:45:00:00, the film begins at 10:00:00:00.
My mov-mp4(h264) has also the same TC start but the film begins at 10:00:00:11.

I tried too with a very little file (20sec-XDCAM) and there is also a problem :
Original duration 20 sec and 1 frame
Mp4 20 sec and 2 frame.

The problem was already on 0.9.0 version and now with 0.9.3.

Can you check please?
Thank you very much.

B.

EDIT: Tried with source DNxHD file and it seems ok, same duration and begin is well at 10:00:00:00

Yes, I have seen this but I have not yet found the cause. It might also be a ffmpeg/x264 issue, not FFAStrans per se. But I'm looking into it.

Hi Steinar,
I tried to encode XDCAM>MP4 with ffmpeg on a 20sec videofile. The result is strange because now I lost 2 frames :)
So you're right, there is a problem with ffmpeg when transcode XDCAM>mp4, maybe because of gop.
;)
