0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hi,
Thank you for this great product.
However I do have a problem.
One of my watch folders is on a ftp server, so I created an FTP watch.
If I place a new file on this watch folder FFAStrans noticed the new file, after several minutes I see in the FFAStrans monitor some activity, but this stops. FFAStrans will not download any files with this FTP profile.
Am I forgetting something?
Hope someone can help
Mitch

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hello Mieso,
The ftp watch is quiet simple to set, just check "growing files" to be sure the file is finished to upload.
Have you check in monitor status that the job begins? (if yes, no error message?
In order, FFastrans donwload file, localize it and deliver it.
Have you well set your delivery node?
Tell us more please.
Cheers
Benjamin

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hi Benjamin,
Thank you for your replay.
I thought it would be simple to.
This is what I've done:
Create FTP monitor - ftpadress-port21-Passive (username-password) - Path - check for growing files
then: encoders- XDCAM-HD witch 'create avid project structure'
then: Destination folder: Avid mediafiles\mxf\1
In the monitor status I see FFAStrans doing some action for 1 or 2 seconds (it looks like it's scanning the ftp watchfolder) then it stops
If I 'submit files to 'FTP" (manually) this watch folder works correctly.
135 Gb of free space
If I need to provide more information, please let me know.
Best regards
Mieso

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hello,
Well, maybe you should try with passive uncheck, not sure it will be useful but you can try.
For information, I used this same kind of workflow to avoid download, encode and import files in Avid Media Composer, it works for me so it should work for you
In monitor status, have you a message success or something else?
Other idea, check well if def_runner.exe is present in processor folder in your FFASTRANS install folder. Some virus scan delete it.
Let me know if you succeed.
Cheers.

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hi Momocampo,
I've tried checking and unchecking the passive mode.
monitor status is empty,
def_runner.exe is present in the folder (even changed folder locations)
tried a different ftp server, even tried a different pc.
what version are you running @momocampo?
Best,
Mieso

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hello,
Well, I used the last one the 0.9.3 but I used ftp watch until several versions of FFASTRANS with success.
Really weird your issue.
Can you give me a capture(photo) of your host configuration please? (FFASTRANS options menu>configuration>host).
Thanks
Benjamin

Hi mieso01, thank you for using FFAStans and welcome to the forum!
Can you please try and "Rebuil history" in the monitor-node and see if it displays any files?

Re: 0.9.3.2 FTP Watchfolder
Hello Steinar,
We tried several things together but it seems his ftp is "strange". Impossible to catch files with rebuild history, I tried again with my own ftp and all is ok....
I discovered on one of my workstations that the company virus scan blocks the ftp watch (no files in cache with rebuild history). Works well on my main workflow workstation which haven't virus scan.
Can't tell more advices to Mieso unfortunately.
