Hello Steinar,
I have a problem with the YouTube-Decoder.
If I set the YouTube-Decoder to download both video and audio sometimes it occurs that the downloaded file has video but no audio.
At the moment we are using FFAStrans 0.9.3.2 but it is the same in 0.9.4.
When I set YouTube-Decoder to download only audio it works.
I thought updating YouTube-dl.exe might help.
No success.
Here is an example-link where I can't download both video and audio: https://vimeo.com/204348975

Re: Youtube-Decoder | Downloaded Files have video but no audio
Hi,
I tried and I have no problem to catch video+audio. Only little problem it's the second test, the audio is strange...I must try with several others videos to check.
Video+audio really clean with your link.
cheers.

Hello Benjamin,
Thanks for feedback!
Could you tell me which quality was set in your youtube-decoder-settings?
I set mine to "Best" and had the problems described.
Today I set it to "1080", tried it again and the problem disappeared.
The downloaded file has both video+audio.

Hello Taner,
You're right Taner, there is a bug with best setting --> no audio.
Seems to be ok for 1080 and 720.
Steinar, if you hear us, we have something for you .
Cheers.

Re: Youtube-Decoder | Downloaded Files have video but no audio
Hello Steinar, not the OP but I had similar issues. Two parts to my report.
My production server is at 9.1, I attempted to update it to 9.4.1 and found that youtube clips had no audio. I didn't spend any time investigating as I needed it online and working, so I just rolled back to 9.1 and it was fine.
I installed 9.4 plus the patch on my test computer today and can reproduce the audio problem. The odd thing is that in the "about" screen it still shows 9.4.0 even after downloading and swapping in the 9.4.1 ffastrans.exe file. So the first part of my question is that normal? I expected it to show 9.4.1. The workflow manager version did change from 9.4.58 to 9.4.59 but nothing else.
My workflow is; URL watch folder>populate variable (to truncate long names)>YT decoder>MXF encoder>deploy>delete original. My YouTube processor is set to 1080, I don't want to use "Best" on the off chance someone grabs 4K material. I added a deploy processor branch directly off the YouTube processor so I could check the file that is being sent to the MXF encoder. If I select 1080 (audio+video) I get an mp4 file with only a video track, hence no audio in the final file. If I change the YouTube processor to "Best" (audio+video) I get an MKV file that does include both audio and video tracks and good audio in the final file. This is the url I tested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFI_J5lvs-c.
