Haha, i was not aware that the insert media filter is able to decode png
However, in order not to mix up colors, i reccomend not to change pixel formats if possible. So it might be best for you to stick at the uncompressed approach. Maybe using bpm instead of png works, otherwise i guess it is best to stick to the uncompressed video approach.
Let me know where you have troubles.
Insert Media (Y42B Error)

emcodem, wrapping since 2009 you got the rhyme?
Re: Insert Media (Y42B Error)
Hi,
Thanks - I'm sure the Insert Media only works with AVI and PNG files. I've tried using DVPAL and Uncompressed for the AVI files with the same error message :/ . The PNG works but with levels shifting, I can probably get this to match with some tinkering with the color level node.
The other issue I've come across which is more to do with the ProRes encoder. I'm using a ProRes encoder at the end of the workflow and noticed significant colour shift in the final product. The video levels of the insert media which was professionally graded has had it's levels compressed by some margin. You will always get some shift when going from one codec to another but the shift is so much that it voids the end broadcast product.
