Hello!
We have both Avid ISIS an NEXIS storage. I faced a strange error: if I try to use move instead of copy in delivery the process can not locate the target folder. With only copy it works flawlessly. I also can move files from windows or any other apps without problems. Could you shed some light what FFAsTrans exactly is doing if move is selected so that I can pinpoint the problem.
The error massage is usually ERROR 31 A device attached to the system is not functioning. related to target folder.
Thanks!
Need help troubleshooting delivery move
Re: Need help troubleshooting delivery move
Hello Richyy,
In theory, depends where is your delivery node.E.g: If your delivery node is just behind a monitor folder node, the file juts moves to source path until destination path.
If your delivery node is behind an encoder node for example, it's the "new created file" which moves to destination, so moves from %s_job_work% to destination. In this case, depends where you set your media cache folder.
To resume, check where is your media cache folder (options tab ->configuration->host) then you will know from "where to where".
Hope it helps but Steinar or Encodem could confirm if i'm wrong

Re: Need help troubleshooting delivery move
Yes this is correct. The move option will always move the incoming source, whatever that may be and whatever processor node created it. So as Benjamin writes, if the next step from an encoder is your delivery node, it will move the encoded file (which is now your source) from the job work dir and into your destination. If your work dir and destination is on the same share or local drive, the move will be instantaneous. If not, the the delivery node will copy then delete the source.
