Ikegami GFCAM support

Post by jveekeres »

Hi,

Would it be possible to create Ikegami GFCAM support in the monitors section.
I know it's an almost abandoned format but I still come across it at one tv station.

Thanks

Hi @jveekeres
welcome to the forum and thank you for using ffastrans :-)

you don't accidently have any documentation about GFCAM works - i dont care much about the file formats but about the file naming, contents of descriptive files (xml?) etc...? for P2 it is possible to reverse engineer because it is (kind of) widey used but i could not imagine how to get out how exactly GFCAM works.

What would be your workflow, is it like this: copy the GFCAM file structure to some watchfolder of ffastrans - retaining the full file and folder structure?
emcodem, wrapping since 2009 you got the rhyme?

Hi jveekeres,

The only special monitors we are likely to build are the ones that splits files into several parts, AND is not a totally outdated format structure. In order to decide this we need some documentation for the file structure or a representative copy of it's variants. To actually build it and test we must have the latter but a documentation should be enough to decide if it's doable and worth the effort.
