Hi,
I would very, very much appreciate some help with the below.
We have two files that are dropped into a watch folder, both start with the same ID number:
GH001_SportsAvidBin.avb
GH001_SportsTranscode.mxf
I would like FFastrans to move the files to its final destination within a folder called 'GH001'.
I've got a similar workflow where it can create a folder based on source file name which is great. I just need to be able to redact some digits.
so source file name = leading five characters.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks!
Create folder name with leading 5 digits of source file
Re: Create folder name with leading 5 digits of source file
Hello Graham,
It seems really simple but I just to be sure to understand what you want :
- You want the files move to a folder called by the first 5 characters ?
That's all?

Re: Create folder name with leading 5 digits of source file
Yes thanks. The idea is that numerous files will be placed in the watch folder over weeks/months. Each Avid bin should have a mxf counterpart that starts the same leading 5 digits. So the idea is FFastrans moves the two files into a folder named with that tracking number.

here is the workflow !
Just set your monitor watch and your destination folder before the variable called "%avid-reference%"
Tell me if ok ;
