FFASTrans 0.9.0.1 Command Executor bug

Post by kibi »

The latest version has bug with Command Executor, introduced in the recent update (0.9.0.0 does not have).
Command file is executed in a strange environment, and "show console" option doesn't work. Some simple scripts can run properly, while more complicated fail to execute and it's impossible to find out why without looking at the console.

Tried several techniques, to find out details without success. Had to downgraded to 0.9.0.0, thought it has known bug with H.264 audio.

When you write "scripts", do you mean batch script triggered by the "Command executor" or just the command line (simple and complex) ?

Thanks, I'm better but not well. The code for running commands has not really changed from 0.9.0 to 0.9.0.1 so I find it a bit puzzeling. Could you please send me a working and a non working script so that I can investigate?

Are you running FFAStrans as service? In that case, the console output will not work. It must be run as application. When doing that, I cannot recreate the error in 0.9.0.1. The console shows up nicley:

And as stated earlier, the code for running commands has not changed from 0.9.0 to 0.9.0.1.

FFastrans as service? Great, but no, I use it as a normal app (it's easier to debug).
By the way, in the latest version 9.0.4 this issue seems to be resolved. May be it was the false alarm, I do not know.
And I use not "genuine" 9.0.4, but 9.0.4 with FFMPEG/AviSynth parts came with 0.8.2 version.

Does it affect on new features, introduced in 9.0.x? I mean, is it safe to keep old FFMPEG/AviSynth dlls?

It depends on what features you use. Most noticeable is the improved PAL <-> NTSC frame rate conversions. It will work with the 0.8.2 ffmpeg but might result in strange behaving video.
