File Format not picked up

Post by abul »

Hi All,

I was running transcode on some files, going from watch_folder to XDCAM then delivery.

The files I had were 6 MP4, 2 MXFand 1 MPEG.

The MPEG did not get picked up and did not go through XDCAM.

Hi abul,

Could you try and rename the MPEG file and see what happens?

I tried, it didn't work so I had to manually submit the file.

Hello Abul,

It's strange, are you sure you have nothing as name or as deny into your monitor folder?
You can try to just enter the path of your watch folder and nothing in "accept files" and "deny files". Even mpeg will maybe not accept by XDCAM encoder (never try) you will have an error in FFastrans but your mpeg file should be process.

Hi monocampo,

Yep, did not deny any files and it accepts all file.

What was strange is that just to make sure there wasn't an issue.

I ran the workflow again but this time, it also missed another file.

So in my watch folder, I had the MPEG file and one mp4 file, while the rest encoded.

Are you ever submit the same name file ? (the name file that are not processed)
If yes, maybe it's cache.
Right click on your workflow and select reset. It will reset all history file and we will see if all your file is picked up.

I had a clear cache node that was clearing the cache after every file.

I now tested by dropping the MPEG File and another file and it seemed to pick it up.
However, in the end, it displayed and error message

"job ended with error on folder@Abul: process exited error code: 1 C:\WINDOWS\system32\icacls.exe"

hm, i fear we might need @admin for this. icacls.exe is basically a program for setting user permissions to a file or folder but i think it is not actively used by ffastrans.
@abul, please share your workflow export xml!
emcodem, wrapping since 2009 you got the rhyme?

icals is not actively called by FFAStrans so as emcodem writes, you need to export and post your workflow in order for us to investigate further.
