Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Another update, tried tweaking the Bitrate (started at 2200) and found it still works up to 2300 but at 2400 the transcode is failing again. Working with - 4.2, Baseline, x264, 2300 bitrate now and all appears to work.

Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Have been trying out some different options with x264 and found that the failures don't occur when using the baseline profile, I've tested all others and they are all grinding to a halt at some point in the process so will proceed with using the baseline profile.

Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Update - Have changed the Video format to MPEG4 (from x264) and it's working flawlessly so it must just be an issue with AVCi & x264.

Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Update - Tried 50% and no joy. It only seems to be a problem with the AVCi.mxf files though, it appears to reach a certain point of the transcode then stop dead. I've tried using ffmpeg on the same file and had no problem so will keep looking.

Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Hi Marius, thanks for the input, I'll try dropping the CPU to 50% and see if I get any better results.

Re: MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Thanks for the quick response, workflow is below. I left it running over the weekend just in case it started up again but it's still stuck where it was. FFAStrans Monitor failure 300117.JPG [general] watcher=Network Test folder= watcher_id=20170124111331 Sleep=30 Work folder=Z:\Work Media Cache\2017...

MP4 Transcode node slows then stops
Hi all,
I've created a workflow for creating Clean & BITC DVD ISO files as well as a Clean & BITC H264 proxies. The DVD ISOs work absolutely perfectly but the H264 nodes slow down to a grind then appear to stop completely. Any thoughts would be great thanks.
Cheers,
Ali

Re: Shared Workflow - Maximum active jobs 0 option
Update - I've just closed FFAStrans on the 3 ingest stations & ran the monitor from the shared storage and for all intents it appears to do what I need it to (monitor the progress).

Shared Workflow - Maximum active jobs 0 option
There may already be a way to do this but I can't see how to implement it at the moment. I have 3 x low powered HP elitedesks for copying media from external drives to a server & 1 x Dell 7910 for 'number crunching' and I've set up a shared workflow which is working great but I'd like to be able...
