Yes, 2016 or better. But it will likely also work on 2012....

For webinterface, we use mongodb and they force Server 2016 (~=windows 10) or newer.
The reason for the forcing are as far as i understand mostly the "linked" Windows inbuilt "encryption" libraries for https related stuff and similar, it is the base of all security related matters.
